This drawing references Nathanial Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter." Great book in my opinion: [link]

when i visited Massachusetts, i found out the history of the Scarlet Letter. did you know Hawthorne was temporarily living with a woman (i forget their relation) in a house with gables? when Hawthorne arrived, he wrote the Scarlet Letter. Some of the gables on the house had been removed (due to financial purposes, i think), so when the woman told Hawthorne that the house originally had 7 gables, BAM the book House of the Seven Gables was written! i even got to explore the secret passageways and i saw the slave quarters XD i wish they wouldve let us touch the furniture though.

I adore the Scarlet Letter - the priest Arthur Dimmesdale was such a pale, frail little man - it's a wonder why he even could THINK of having sex with Hester. She'd start taking off her socks and he'd just faint. -___-"
